First trip after quarantine back in April. I made my mom to go visit Skryje ponds with me, but there were too many people. So instead we went to the other side of Skryje, and went from the bridge to castle ruins Týřov. And it was pretty amazing. still more people that I expected, but we had a great time.
Hi! I have a service announcement.. Since the whole purpose of this blog is to share photos from travels (and used to be from concerts, but I guess im getting old or something, and my little emo punk heart is crying from not going to concerts that much anymore).. I don't know for how long I'll be able to dig old photos. And who knows how long we'll be living in quarantine, or for how long it'll be "not exactly safe" to travel.. so there's a possibility that I will abandon it here for a while. But if you a conspiracy and true crime junkie that deff check out my other blog.
We all know how ZOOs looks like in winter. that's why I didn't have high hopes in this trip. Very honestly I was just happy to spent a day with my brother and nephews. but it kinda surprised me.. yes, I deff recommend visiting when it's warmer outside, but even in the beginning of March it has something to it.
Can we all agree that this place is the most overrated instaplace in Czech republic? I mean, if you have instagram and you've never been to Maj, than there's something wrong. It's like highway there, I did expect some people, but not so many.. you basically have to stand in a line for a photo! Thats just crazy to me because there're so many much more beautiful places around.
So as you can tell I wasn't really amused. But on the bright side I'm glad we went there, I had a nice day with my best friend and the place itself its not bad at all.. what I personally don't get is the hype like its another world wonder.
Ahoj!
English translation coming soon.
Hello!
In today's post I'll take you to one of my favourite places. Chateau Dobříš is located only 45km (approx 30mins) from Prague and it's truly a summer must-visit place!
Little bit history..
The Rococo chateau and its parks date back to the 18th century when the original Baroque chateau was destroyed by fire. Dobříš was owned by the House of Colloredo-Mannsfeld until 1942 when it was appropriated by German Reich. In 1945 the chateau was confiscated by Czechoslovak state and a Writers house was established and run by the Assiciation od Czechoslovak writers. In 1998 Chateau Dobříš was returned to the House of Colloredo-Mannsfeld.
I love travelling (and who doesnt, duh) but who has the time and money to travel abroad every weekend!? And czech republic (even tho it's pretty small country) is actually really beautiful. We have nice and photogenic nature here and we dont need to travel half the country for it.
For example, this trip we made with Renata was super spontaneous. We knew for weeks that we'll meet and we will go somewhere. but only one night before we decided to go on the south of Prague. We met in Beroun, we went to Svatý Jan pod Skalou, Bubovice airport and end up in quarry near Mořina. There are three of them: Velká Amerika, Malá Amerika and Mexiko. My favourite is Velká Amerika even tho it's the most 'favourite' one and especially in summer there're hundreds of people.
